🗣️We are excited to announce our upcoming summer public speaking camp, Camp Confidence!!
This camp will focus on essential communication skills. We will also delve into interpretive speaking and platform speaking.
- Interpretive speaking is the art of storytelling using body language, facial expression, and voice variation.
- Platform speaking is the art of delivering a message with clarity and organization to persuade your audience.
Both of these categories require one thing: confidence! 😃 That's exactly what we will help students gain. During this camp, students will write and deliver their own short speeches. The speech coaches will give them feedback and encourage their practice. At the end of the week, parents will be invited to watch their students deliver their speeches.

Students loved the collaborative environment, with one camper sharing that their favorite part was: “Learning more about each other.”
Campers developed stronger communication and performance skills, including “Interp skills and confidence” and “learning new ways to show emotion in speech and using pathos, logos, ethos.”
Students also improved presentation techniques through “blocking [for interpretive speech], neutral position and gestures,” helping them become more polished and confident speakers.
The impact goes beyond camp — students are already planning to use these skills in leadership opportunities like “getting involved in student government.”

🔊 We offer extra training for students who are interested in competitive speech! This takes place 12:30pm-1:30pm each day of camp for those who sign up. This training helps students prepare for speech tournaments.
Camp Confidence General Info:
ü Who: Students, grades 6-12
ü Date/Time: Mon-Fri, June 22-26, 9:00am-12:00pm. (Extra: competitive speech training 12:30-1:30 pm. Bring your own lunch!)
ü Place: Trinity Presbyterian Church (3151 Union Ave, San Jose, CA 95124)
ü Fee: $250/student for regular camp (+$50 for extra 1 hour/day of competitive speech sessions and training)
⏳ Registration Deadline: June 1
🐦 Early Bird Discount: $25 off if a student is registered by May 27!!
😃 Referral Discount: If a family recruits another student to sign up, both that family and the additional student receive $15 off!
‼️Minimum of 6 students required for camp to proceed!
NO REFUND if student drops their registration after June 10!
